“Gold Teeth” arrested for illegal gun

A 40 year-old higgler, Leroy Brailesford, otherwise called “Gold Teeth” of Old Harbour Road, Spanish Town, St. Catherine was last evening charged for breaches of the Firearms Act after an illegal gun was found in his possession.

He is facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and shooting with intent.

The CCN’s Liaison Officer for St. Catherine South reports that about 6:20 p.m., two policemen from the Old Harbour Police Station were on assignment in the Church Pen Housing Scheme where two men were seen. On the approach of the police the men pulled guns and opened fire at them.

The fire was returned and the men ran, but Brailesford was later held and a .38 Special Rossi revolver, serial number 249451 with two .38 cartridges and three spent shells found in his possession. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

The Old Harbour Police are investigating.
